Paper II Q 1.b.
The ball loses 1.7 J in the bonuce so,
Ek at impact = Ek rebound + 1.7
0.5m x 4.5^2 = (0.5m x 4^2) + 1.7
0.5m x 20.25 = (0.5m x 16) + 1.7
10.125m = 8m + 1.7
2.125m = 1.7
m = 0.8kg
